 Robin has only one card to chase in this year's update set, but it's a big one.  Robin finally gets his own Legendary Home Field Advantage card!!!  These Legendary cards are much harder and rarer than the regular HFA cards.  So good luck out there hunting this one down.

On the Radar - 2022 Topps Chrome Update

 I was really hoping that the Diamond Greats Die Cuts would get the chrome treatment this year and they did!! Since Robin was in the set that also means he gets a nice die cut chrome card.  Not sure if there are any parallels yet, but I'll add to the checklist if there are.

 I was working on my Year in Review post and low and behold Topps snuck another release out.  Topps Chrome Update is suppose to officially be today, tomorrow, who know's exactly when it will hit retail shelves, but Robin has a couple cards in the Platinum Players die-cut set and auto parallel.  No work on parallels for the cards, but it's Topps so I'm sure there will be some.  Here is the tentative checklist and I'll add parallels and serial numbering when that info becomes available.

On the Radar - 2021 Topps Update Yount Checklist

 We'll have to wait till Update actually comes out to see if Robin has a Legends variation in the set, fingers crossed, but with the checklist being released today we can see Robin is featured in the 70th Anniversary Logo Patch with an Autographed version as well found in Blaster boxes.  I'll add imagery when these start popping up and amend the checklist if he has a Legends variation.

2020 Topps Chrome Update - Yount Checklist

 I think I'm just going to wait till March to say the 2020 Yount checklist is finally finished.  I didn't realize that Topps was releasing a Chrome Update.  Exclusive to Target the set features Robin on the A Numbers Game insert with an Autograph parallel as well.  The product dropped Jan 15th.  Haven't seen if these cards have different refractor parallels or not.

 Robin is featured in one of the insert sets in this year's Topps Update.  It's also possible that he'll get a varaition card in the main checklist, but we'll have to wait till the set comes out to see if that happens.

We got a double dip in 2019 with Robin getting a Legends Variation in Series 2 and again in the Update series.  Topps picked another great photo to use for Robin's card.  Personally I'm a big fan of these legends variations. First there's no doubt when you pull one of these that you have something special and it's a great way to get retired and HOF players into a new set.  

On the Radar - 2019 Topps Update

After looking through the released checklist for 2019 Update I was a little bummed and relieved that Robin wasn't featured in any of the inserts sets.  Fast forward to yesterday, when the product was released and low and behold Robin is once again featured as a Legends variation subject.

I'm still just starting to dip my toes back into the eBay game.  I decided a couple years ago to stop set collecting and just focus on my team and player sets.  And to be honest I really have just been mainly focusing on Robin.  I've been pretty selective with my purchases over the last 8 months or so and have just now started to finally find some the cards I missed last year.

I ended up picking up Robin's 2017 Topps Update Commemorative MVP Medallion card for a great price.  The last one I bid on went for about 10 bucks so I was pleased to win this card for about a buck and a half plus shipping.  

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package is just how impressively heavy this card is.  I have a feeling you would have no problem picking this card out of a box.  This card commemorates Robin's 1982 MVP award and it might as well commemorate his 1989 one as well, because he didn't get two cards in the set.  I'm not a huge fan of manufactured relics, but they do have a place in my collection, and this card is very well done.  There are also numbered variations of the set.

So Robin has a couple cards to chase in this year's update series.  I'm a little miffed that he didn't get a card in the base MVP Award insert, but he does have a manurelic to chase and that manurelic has different parallel levels.

2016 Topps Update Yount Checklist and Gallery

While the Milwaukee Brewers only have 6 base cards in the set and most of the inserts feature Ryan Braun, Robin does have 5 cards to chase.  From the fairly easy to get 3000 Hits Club base inserts and the unnumbered Medallion parallel card, to much more limited Medallion parallels and the autographed version.  These have been added too Robin's running 2016 checklist bring up the total to 158, not counting all the 5x7 card sets, I'll try to track those all down later to add.

2015 Topps Update Highlight of the Year insert

Fresh out of the mailbox!  I've been seeing these cards go for as much as $4, which seems crazy to me given it's just a base insert.  My card comes much cheaper.  I picked up a lot of 5 of these bad boys off of justcommons.com for a whole thirty five cents a piece.  It was part of a larger order  filling some Brewers team set needs from recent releases.  

The insert comes from Topps' big continuation insert from Series 1 and 2.  The complete set has 90 cards, 30 from each series.  I featured this card and it's autograph variation in a post when Update came out, but this is the collection post.  

The card celebrates Robin joining the 3000 hits club, a stat that pretty much made him a first ballot shoe in.  I really like the overall design and look of the set, but I'm just not into trying to put together monster insert sets anymore, so the only cards I keep are for my team and player collections.

A great cheap addition to the collection.

2010 Topps Update Bat Barrel Manurelic

I figured why not follow up a manurelic with another manurelic.  This one comes from the 2010 Update set.   I won't repeat my tirade about manurelics from the last post, but I will say out of all the different manurelics Topps has put out these Manufactured Bat Barrels are my favorite.  They came in 3 different flavors.  I blogged about the black version in May this year and there is also a pink version number to just one.  

I just like the look of the card. The bat barrel is huge, the card think, in hand these look great.  Add to that that even the base card here is fairly rare, numbered to only 99.  That's not something Topps does very often with it's manurelics.  The set itself is pretty large with over 175 subjects to pick from.  Heck the Brewers even have 6 subjects in the set including Paul Molitor.

Not to be confused with the Golden Moments Die Cut cards that were available though Topps' online promotion in 2012, the Golden Moments insert was a continuity insert that ran through Series 1 and 2 and into Update.  The Update set is denoted by the U in the numbering on the back.  

This insert set had autographs, relics and auto relics available for some players and I was excited to see Robin in the set, but disappointed to find out that he did not have any of the other variations.  It's sad because this is one of those inserts that was designed for the autograph and relic versions.  The relic would have gone with there home plate and logo is and the autograph would have been inserted around Robin's waste.

The card commemorates Robin's awesome day at the ballpark on the last day of the season in 1982 and moving on to the ALCS.

Love them or hate them Topps Manufactured relics are probably here to stay.  And while Topps' creations are hit or miss, sometimes they're a grand slam.  When Topps put out these bat barrel replicas in the 2010 Update Series it was s culmination on a year of interesting ideas.  But these were by far the best of the bunch.  These cards are incredibly think and the scan does not do the card justice.  They came in a couple varieties.  The base card was numbered to 99 and the ultra rare pink barrel was numbered to just one, but for my money the black bat barrels were the best looking.
