First new Yount of the Year - On the Radar - 2022 Topps Throwback Thursday

 

What a surprise this morning to check out Topps.com and see that Robin is featured as one of the three new cards in this weeks Throwback Thursday offering.  I'm still working on a end of year post for the blog, but I had to throw this out on the webs first.  Anyways this card is being offered along with a pair of juniors (Vlad and Tatis) till next Thursday.  You can pick a set up for $14.99 at Topps.com

On the Radar - Topps Online 206 Wave 2 Yount Checklist

 Robin is featured in Wave 2 of the second year of this online exclusive product.  The packs are available for purchase from May 18th till June 8  and cost $14.99 for a 10 card pack.  Robin is listed as #32 in this wave of 50, but last year cards were unnumbered and since Wave 1 just closed today we still haven't seen if this year's cards are numbered.  Regardless, robin has a base card and all the parallels.

On the radar - 2020 Topps x Super 70s Sports Curated Set

 Topps has a new online set as part of there Topps x brands this time is 70s themed with the Topps x Super 70s Sports - Curated Set.  Curated by Ricky Cobb who created and posts funny bits on his twitter account @Super70sSports.  I personally hadn't heard of him, but I'm not hip or with it at all so that's not surprising.  Regardless Robin as a card in the base set.  Sadly he's not featured in any of the inserts or the autograph checklist and I'm not sure if there will be base card parallels to the set.  There's no indication that there are on the Topps website, but doesn't mean there's not.

2020 Topps Online - Topps x Super 70s Sports # 47

You can pick a pack up for $25 on Topps.com till mid-November.  Each pack contains 20 cards (18 base and 2 inserts) with a 1:3 shot at an auto.  I picked up a box to try out and to maybe score a Yount card.  There are also a few other players I collected featured in the set.

I posted about this card when it was made available on the Topps website late last year.  Robin was in the last round of weekly offerings.  The set had a bunch of different themed sub-sets: Rookie Campaigns, Historic Moments, Artist Renditions, and Records and Award Winners.  I was hoping that Robin was going to get the Artist Rendition treatment, because Graig Kreindlers art is incredible, but I'll settle for Robin just being in the set.  Robin's card commemorates his 1982 MVP season and award.  

2019 Topps Online - Mini checklist

I thought I had put the 2019 checklist to bed, but totally missed this online exclusive set.  That doesn't surprise me as I had read somewhere this sold out very quickly.  The 2019 mini set was available by the 35 count box online and included all Series 1, 2 and Update cards as well as the 1984 inserts, and some new autographs.  I have seen some of Robin's 1984 Base and Update All-Star cards pop up on eBay and COMC.  There are also two parallels, Pink #/25 and Platinum #/1.

On the Radar - Topps Online 150 Years of Professional Baseball on-demand card

I was hoping Robin would be featured in this set.  I was really hoping he'd get an artists rendition card and he still might.  Robin has card #130 in the set and celebrates his 1982 MVP award.

Like the rest of these cards these will be available till next Tuesday or you can wait and pick them up on the secondary market.

This card has been added to the master 2019 checklist along with all the other 5x7 and new 10x14 posters available on Topps.com.

New Yount Alert

We have two new products coming out this Wednesday and Robin has cards in both of them.

Robin has a base card in Topps Archives and this time he's on a card design he's never been featured on.  The past two years Robin was also in the Archives base set, but featured on a designs that he'd actually had a card in those original sets.  This year he's featured on the 1957 design and will have all the parallels that go along with it. He is also featured in the original buy back autograph set.  How many cards is that?  Who knows.

He's also featured in Topps Finest - Finest Generations insert set and the parallel cards.  He's not featured in the autograph set.

Topps also released some new online wall art featuring the new Finest design. Robin has two card available, or were available.  His base card in numbered to 49 and is $69.99, He also has a gold parallel numbered to 1 that someone has already purchased, that card was offered for $199.99.

The nice thing with the online wall art is we get to see what Robin's Topps Finest card will look like.

2014 Topps High Tek Wall Art

Just when I though I had put the 2014 Yount checklist to bed Topps goes and does something else.  

I got an email this morning from Topps advertising it's Topps High Tek Wall Art.  Topps has been doing Wall Art all summer so this didn't come as a surprise.  What might be surprising is that they are producing only one of each subject and Robin's on the checklist.  Or was. When I started looking through the website Robin's piece had already been scooped up.  Not that I would have bought it at almost $200.
