COMC Black Friday Haul #42

Keeping with the last couple posts we have another parallel to show off.  One of the things I really love about COMC and one of the main reasons it's become my primary online shopping source is it allows me to play the long game when it comes to picking up parallels like this.  Had I tried to pick this up off of eBay back in 2015 it would have likely cost me close to $10 with shipping.  That's a lot more than I paid for it or would have wanted to pay for it.  Overall I love the card and photo choice.  I would gripe about the photo being overused, but to be fair there are multiple photos of Robin in this pose taken throughout his career.  It's very possible this is reused image, as in  Topps was reusing lots of the same image over and over around this time frame.  Still a great card and still low numbered and a great addition to the collection

2014 Panini Classics Timeless Tributes Silver

Year:  2014
Manufacturer: Panini
Set: Classics Baseball
Card Number: 113
Card Type: Base Parallel
Parallel Set: Timeless Tributes Silver
Card Attributes: Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 090/149

COMC Black Friday Haul #26

I picked up some nice parallels this last card season.  One of those was this Panini Classics Time Tributes Silver parallel.  There are two other Timeless Tributes parallels the Gold and Platinum, numbered to 25 and 1, so the likelyhood of those parallel falling into the collection are slim, but I'm glad to be able to add this fairly low numbered card.  While not as terrible as some of the other cards Robin has in Panini products it's still not great.  Not so terrible that I'm not going to add this card to the collection, but still...  The airbrushing isn't huge on the card with just the batting helmet logo gone and the uniform color isn't as terrible as some of the other cards I've seen where it's recolored to a dark navy blue and almost black.  Nice little blurb on the back with career totals.

2014 Topps Commemorative Rookie Class Ring Silver

Card Manufacturer: Topps
Card Set: Topps Baseball Series 2
Year:  2014
Card Number: CR-36
Card Type: Insert
Insert Type: Manurelic
Insert Set: Rookie Class Rings
Note: Unnumbered base set

The first of Robin's 2014 Topps Series 2 cards to arrive in my hands.  I picked this card up for about seven bucks delivered so patience definitely paid off.  There are 3 other parallels of this card. The gold, gold gem, and gold gem autograph versions.  I'll be lucky if I'm able to pick up the gold version numbered to 99, but the gold gem and gold gem autos are probably well out of my price range.  You can see photos of those cards on my Series 2 gallery post HERE.

I really do like these manufactured commemorative cards.  The card is thick and heavy and it displays very well.  And of course I'm always excited to be able to add a new Yount to the collection.
