2025 Topps Gilded - Base Gold

Year: 2025
Manufacturer: Topps
Set: Gilded Collection
Card Number: 56
Card Type: Base
Card Attributed: Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 32/99

I was able to find a decently priced base 2025 Topps Gilded Collection Yount for the collection.  And it's a beauty.  I'm a sucker for shiny cards and I'm an even bigger sucker for shiny Robin Yount cards featuring the current base design.  Who cares if it's an over used image, it's very pretty in hand.  Plus it's fairly low numbered, which is always nice, and comes with full stats on the back.  I'm hoping I might be able to find the next couple of tiers (gold mini-diamond and gold wave) for a decent price as well.

2005 Fleer Cooperstown Tribute

Year: 2005
Manufacturer: Fleer
Set: Tradition
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Cooperstown Tribute
Card Number: 4CT
Card Attributes: Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 1100/1999

Nothing like a shiny foilboard card to get the day off right.  I'm a big fan of Cooperstown tribute sets and cards.  The scan really doesn't do the card justice on just how shiny it is.

These Cooperstown Tribute cards were inserted into the Fleer Tradition set.  Tradition had become Fleers flagship set for the most part and the base set was suppose to be 750 cards, but Fleer's bankruptcy meant only Series 1 was release.  It's very possible that the 10 card Tribute set would have been much larger, but at least we got Robin included before the Fleer brand got sold to Upper Deck.  The cards are serial numbered to the year of induction, so Robin's is out of 1999.  There is an unnumbered gold parallel which was the retail insert for this set and there are two relic parallels to chase.

2005 Donruss Zenith Museum Collection

Card Manufacturer: Donruss
Card Set: Zenith
Year: 2005
Card Number: 239
Card Type: Base Parallel
Parallel Type: Museum Collection

Like a phoenix Zenith came back in 2005.  It had had a 4 year run back in the late 90's when Pinnacle Brands, makers of Score, was sold to Playoff which became Donruss Playoff, which is now all owned by Panini. Whew.  Anyways the big seller for Zenith was the Dufex shiny technology. And that was showcased in a lot of the inserts and parallel sets in the issue.

There are also gold and silver artist proof parallels and Z gold and silver parallels of this card.

Like most shiny cards like this the scan doesn't do it its shiny justice.  I wonder how long it'll be before Panini resurrects this brand?

2014 Bowman Is Back insert

Card Manufacturer: Toppps
Card Set: Bowman Platinum
Year:  2014
Card Number: 89BIB-RY
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Bowman Is Back

Another one of my recent pick ups.  Topps has been inserting these cards in to various Bowman products for a couple years now.  And as luck would have it Mr. Yount got his mug put on one and inserted into this year's Bowman Platinum.

The cards are really nice and shiny.  The front and back both mimic the 1989 Bowman release, but at least Topps didn't mimic the size like it did back in 1989. Those cards were a pain to store and display.  These cards are regular size.
