1982 Topps GMA graded 10

Year: 1982
Manfacturer: Topps
Set: Flagship Baseball
Card Number: 435
Card Attriutes: Graded
Grading Company: GMA
Grade: Gem Mint 10

I know I know you're probably going to say GMA?  I really don't target, or for that matter really care about, graded cards.  Sure I have a  nice stack of graded Younts, but most of those were gifts.  As a matter of fact as far as I can remember I've only really ever gone after two graded cards.  And this is one of them.  I can remember really wanted a really nice 1982 Topps Yount card.  Remembering why I wanted it is the problem.  The other thing is I have no idea why I settle on going after and acquiring a GMA graded example.  Probably because, like me, it was cheap.  I for the life of me don't remember what I paid for this but I know it wasn't pricey.  And for all the crap GMA may get for being a bargain basement grading company this 82 Topps Yount is a very nice looking card.  Not perfectly centered, which I guess doesn't affect the grade, but all four corners are sharp and the card is super clean.

1990 Score Superstar PSA graded 10

Year: 1990
Manufacturer: Score
Card Set: Score Superstars Box Set
Card Number: 92
Card Attributes: Graded
Grading Company: PSA
Grade: Gem Mint 10

Over the years I've never really gotten into graded cards.   I can count on one hand the number of graded cards I've actually purchased, but quite a few year's ago a fellow Yount collector, Matt,  sent me a ton graded Younts while trying to pare down his collection.  Matt has the highest ranking Yount collection on the PSA registry and about a decade ago he contacted me asking if I'd like some of his extras that didn't make the grade for his registry set.  Not to look a gift horse in the mouth I graciously accepted and 99% of the graded Yount cards in my collection have come from him.  The cards he sent were all in beautiful shape, but most did not make the grade to gem mint 10.  However mixed in the lots were a couple cards that did.  One of those cards was this 1990 Score Superstars.

The 1990 Superstars set was a box set of 100 cards.  It's about the size of the old Topps Traded sets. And like all sets from this era it was grossly overproduced, however the nice thing about the box sets from the 80s and 90s is they are chocked full of superstars and now HOFers.

1987 Topps PSA Graded Gem Mint 10

Card Manufacturer: Topps
Card Set: Topps Baseball
Year:  1987
Card Number: 773
Card Type: Base
Attributes: Graded
Grading Company: PSA
Grade: GEM MT 10

Sometimes I just get itch I can't scratch.  A few years back I just decided I'd pick up a few graded Younts for the collection.  With 1987 Topps having a soft spot in my heart because it was the first set I actively collected I searched Ebay until I found this beauty.  Not only was it gem mint 10, it was cheap.  For my collecting purposes I consider a graded card and a raw card as two unique cards.

The scans don't do the card justice it really is a beautiful example and while you can tell its not perfectly centered it's pretty darn close. I probably have over 100 1987 Topps Younts laying around, but this is the only one that's graded.  I'll be featuring a lot more from my graded collection in the future too.
