1991 Star Stellar #30

Year: 1991
Card Manufacturer: Star
Card Set: Stellar
Card Number: 30
Card Type: Base

I just realized as I look through my post queue that I really need to start scanning more pre 2000 cards to post about.

So I'll feature another one of Robin's cards from Star's Stellar issue.

Card 30 features Robin's World Series stats.  The Brewers went to the World Series in 1982 losing to the Cardinals in 7.  It's the closest the teams ever come to winning it all.  Of course the 1982 team was pretty awesome.

By even the standards of the day Star's card issues were pretty amateurish, but they did feature some of the best stars of the day and we get a bunch of cards that feature Robin. And if the back of the card is to be believe there are only 500 copies of this card.

1977 Hostess Twinkies Single Cards

Year: 1978
Card Manufacturer: Hostess
Card Set: Hostess Baseball
Card Type: Base Hostess Singles variation

The third and final Hostess Twinkie card in my collection.  I think this is also the last year Hostess had this variation.  As you can see it's very greased stained.  I know that unused cards exist, but it was hard to pass up the deal I got on this card years ago.  Of course the card was used as part of the packaging and the Twinkies sat directly on the card.  I'm not sure if these cards came in other products like cupcakes and snoballs, but even if this card had been trimmed down you can tell it's the variation by the black bar on the back.

2012 Panini Playoff Prime Cuts Hats Off Relic card

Year: 2012
Manufacturer: Panini
Card Set: Playoff Prime Cuts
Card Number: 8
Card Type: Insert Relic
Card Attributes: Relic, Serial Numbered
Relic Set: Hats Off
Relic Type: Hat (I think)
Serial Number: 09/99

Been a on a bit of break.  I was recently down in Wisconsin for my brothers wedding and then as soon as I got back I had some field work.  And I was suppose to have another 2 weeks of field work, but I ended up pulling a muscle in my lower back, which sucks by the way.

Anyways I'm back and feeling better, somewhat.

Here's one of my latest pickups. Robin has a few different cards in this set, but this relic is by far the least rare of the bunch and hence affordable.  I like the look of the cards in the set other than the fact that Robin looks like a North Korean factory worker.  I also have a soft spot for odd ball relics.  We get a ton of jersey/pants and bat relics, but rarely do you see hat relics. At least I think this is a hat relic, why else would you call the insert Hats Off?  Although no where on the card does it state what kind of relic it is.

2015 Panini Immaculate has a few Younts

And I mean just a few, 3 to be exact.

Robin has a card in the Immaculate Heroes Materials set.  It'll look similar to  Killer's below.

According to the checklist put out by Panini Robin's base card with be numbered to just 25, with a blue parallel numbered to 15 and a prime patch parallel numbered to 5.

2014 Topps High Tek Gold Diffractor

Year: 2014
Card Manufacturer: Topps
Set: High Tek
Card Number: HT-RY
Card Type: Base Parallel
Parallel Set: Gold Diffractor
Card Attributes: Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 89/99

Another deal I got from COMC.  I was really glad I had a little credit sitting in my account when the seller put this up with a ridiculously low price.  The least rare of the diffractors the card looks great in hand and even scans pretty decent.

2012 Panini Cooperstown Credentials

Year: 2012
Manufacturer: Panini
Card Set: Cooperstown
Card Number: 7
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Credentials

You gotta love cards that don't feature a picture of their subject.  No really you don't.  This is one of the 4 insert cards Robin had in the set.  He also had a base card with parallels and an autograph.  And oddly enough it's one of two inserts that doesn't feature his likeness.

There's a lot going on in the front of the card, which is pretty much a summary of his Hall of Fame prowess.  It seems odd that there's no mention of 3142 hits on the front. Since belonging to the 3000 hits club, along with his two MVP awards, was why he was a first ballot selection.

1995 Upper Deck Electric Diamond

Year: 1995
Manufacturer: Upper Deck
Card Set: Upper Deck Baseball
Card Number:446
Card Type: Base Parallel
Parallel Set: Electric Diamond

I had thought about trying to insert some Youtube video of Electric Avenue or the Electric Slide, but alas I'm just not up for that.

Instead we'll just feature one of Upper Deck's answers to the Topps Gold craze.  Not nearly as cool and other Electric Diamond sets, this parallel pretty much just a silver point baseball diamond around the Upper Deck logo.  This would be one of Robin's last cards till his induction in the Hall of Fame in 1999.  Robin had a handful of card in 1995 and Robin being included in the Upper Deck set was a tribute to his career.
